On the evening of August 7 1968 at Buff Ledge Camp on Lake Champlain in Vermont two young employees Michael Lapp and Janet Cornell observed a bright cigar shaped object hovering over the water.
Smaller disc shaped crafts emerged from the larger object and approached their location. The witnesses experienced missing time and described being taken aboard one of the crafts where they encountered entities.
Several other campers at the site reported seeing unusual lights and the main object during the same period.
The case was investigated by UFO researchers including those from the Aerial Phenomena Research Organization who found consistent testimony across witnesses.
No conventional explanation such as aircraft or natural phenomena accounted for the structured craft movements and the detailed abduction accounts.
The incident remains one of the well documented group abduction cases from the late 1960s with credible eyewitness reports from multiple individuals.
