Daylight Discs Observed Over New York City Skyline in 1950

In 1950 New York City became the site of one of the earliest well documented daylight UFO encounters in the United States.

Multiple independent witnesses including photographers reported seeing metallic disc shaped objects maneuvering silently above the city skyline during clear daylight hours.

The objects were described as reflective silver discs that moved at high speed yet produced no sound and performed maneuvers impossible for aircraft of the era.

Several black and white photographs were taken showing the discs in formation against the urban backdrop.

These images along with written statements from the observers were submitted to local authorities and later reviewed by civilian UFO research groups.

No official explanation was ever provided by military or government sources and the case remains one of the clearest early examples of daylight disc sightings on record.

The incident contributed significantly to growing public interest in unidentified aerial phenomena during the post war period.
