Witnesses described the objects as round flat discs reflecting sunlight with no visible wings or propulsion systems.

Some accounts noted the discs flying in precise formation before accelerating out of sight.

The events helped fuel the term flying saucer in media coverage and prompted early investigations by what would become Project Sign.
