Glowing Disc Observed Hovering Near Ocala Florida in 1966

In the spring of 1966 the quiet town of Ocala Florida became the site of a compelling UFO encounter.

On a clear night in March a deputy sheriff on patrol observed a large metallic disc hovering above a rural area. The object was described as approximately 40 feet in diameter with bright lights around its circumference and no visible means of propulsion.

The deputy reported that the craft remained stationary for several minutes emitting a low hum before suddenly accelerating vertically at tremendous speed and disappearing into the night sky.

Additional witnesses including local residents confirmed seeing the same unusual object. Official reports were filed with law enforcement and the incident was noted by civilian UFO research groups of the era.
