On the evening of August 21 1955 the Sutton family and their friend Billy Ray Taylor were at their isolated farmhouse near Hopkinsville Kentucky when Taylor reported seeing a bright object streak across the sky and land in a nearby field.

Soon after small humanoid figures approximately three and a half feet tall with large pointed ears glowing yellow eyes and hands that resembled claws began approaching the house. The creatures appeared to float or glide rather than walk.

The family fired multiple shotgun rounds at close range yet the beings seemed unaffected and simply retreated or climbed onto the roof.

Several family members and Taylor drove into town to alert local police who returned with them and observed unexplained glowing lights in the distance along with strange marks on the exterior of the house.

The incident involved at least eight adult witnesses and was investigated by the Kentucky State Police and local authorities. No conventional explanation has ever accounted for the physical evidence or the consistent descriptions across all witnesses.
