JAL Pilots Report Massive Walnut Shaped UFO Over Alaska

JAL Pilots Report Massive Walnut Shaped UFO Over Alaska

On November 17 1986 Japan Airlines Flight 1628 a Boeing 747 cargo plane was en route from Paris to Tokyo with a stop in Anchorage Alaska.

Captain Kenju Terauchi First Officer Takanori Tamefuji and Flight Engineer Yoshio Tsukuba were in the cockpit when they noticed unusual lights to their left.

The lights quickly revealed a massive object shaped like two large walnut shells joined together with bright yellow orange and green lights.

The craft estimated to be the size of two aircraft carriers approached and paced the jet for approximately 32 minutes.

Captain Terauchi reported the object changed shape and at times appeared to be transparent.

Air traffic control in Anchorage confirmed radar returns matching the crew description.

The object eventually moved away at high speed.

The FAA investigated the incident and released a report confirming the radar data and credible eyewitness accounts from trained pilots.

This remains one of the most documented commercial aviation UFO encounters on record.
