Officer Pursues Glowing Disc UFO Across Ohio Roads In 1966

On the morning of April 17 1966 in Portage County Ohio deputy sheriff Dale Spaur and his partner Wilbur Neff were investigating an abandoned vehicle when they encountered a large glowing object hovering in the sky.
The disc shaped craft approximately 40 feet wide emitted a bright white light and made no sound as it hovered just above the treetops.
Spaur approached the object which then began moving away prompting the officers to give chase in their patrol car.
The pursuit lasted over 80 miles passing through several towns and involving additional law enforcement personnel from other jurisdictions who also reported seeing the object.
The UFO demonstrated extraordinary maneuverability accelerating to speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour and making sudden directional changes impossible for conventional aircraft.
The chase extended into Pennsylvania where the object finally ascended rapidly and disappeared.
The incident was documented in official police reports and investigated by Project Blue Book which classified it as unidentified.
Witnesses consistently described the craft as metallic and saucer like with no visible propulsion system.
This event remains one of the most credible police officer UFO encounters on record highlighting the presence of advanced aerial phenomena in US airspace during that era.
