UFO Occupants Give Pancakes to Witness in Wisconsin 1961

On July 26 1961 at approximately 1 PM in Eagle River Wisconsin plumber Joe Simonton heard a sound like a washing machine and stepped outside to see a metallic saucer shaped craft about 30 feet wide and 12 feet high land in his yard.

Three humanoid figures about five feet tall wearing dark clothing and helmets emerged from the craft. One figure used hand gestures to request water.

Simonton provided water in a pan and in return the beings gave him four pancakes that were about four inches across and tasted like cardboard. The craft departed quickly after the exchange.

Simonton reported the incident to local police and the Air Force which investigated under Project Blue Book. The pancakes were sent for analysis at a laboratory and showed ordinary ingredients with no unusual properties.

No physical evidence of the landing was found but the case remains one of the few documented UFO landing encounters involving direct interaction and an exchanged object. Simonton maintained his account consistently until his death and the story has been cited in official UFO files as an unexplained incident.
