USAF Pilot Ordered To Fire Rockets At UFO Over England In 1957

On a night in May 1957 USAF pilot Milton Torres was stationed at RAF Manston in Kent England when he received an urgent scramble order.

Ground radar had detected a massive unidentified object flying at high altitude. Torres took off in his F-86 Sabre jet and was vectored toward the target which appeared far larger than any known aircraft.

Controllers instructed him to arm his 24 air-to-air rockets and prepare to fire on the object if it did not respond.

As he closed in the UFO suddenly accelerated at incredible speed and disappeared from both radar and visual range.

The incident was logged as a classified encounter and Torres later revealed the details in interviews confirming he had been ready to engage what seemed to be an extraterrestrial craft.
