Background
Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1961. He attended Occidental College, Columbia University, and Harvard Law School, where he became the first Black president of the Harvard Law Review. After law school he worked as a community organizer in Chicago and later as a civil rights attorney.
Obama entered politics in 1996, winning election to the Illinois State Senate in 1996 and taking office in 1997. He served there until 2004, focusing on legislation covering health care, ethics reform, and criminal justice. During this period he also taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago.
In 2004 Obama won election to the U.S. Senate from Illinois. He took office in January 2005 and served until resigning after his presidential victory. His Senate tenure included work on foreign policy and veterans' affairs committees.
Obama was elected President in November 2008 and inaugurated in January 2009. He served two terms until January 2017, overseeing legislation on health care, financial regulation, and climate policy, along with foreign policy decisions including the Iran nuclear deal and the Paris climate agreement.
During his presidency Obama received briefings on classified programs. Public records show no statements from him about UAP or extraterrestrial contact while in office. Government UFO investigations continued under standard intelligence channels without public presidential comment on alien origins.
After leaving office in 2017 Obama maintained a public profile through speeches, a production company, and occasional media appearances. In a 2021 interview on The Late Late Show with James Corden he recalled asking staff about secret alien labs and receiving a negative answer while noting unexplained aerial objects.
On February 14, 2026, Obama appeared on the No Lie podcast with Brian Tyler Cohen. In a lightning round he answered that aliens are real but added he had not seen them and they were not at Area 51, citing the improbability of visits given interstellar distances.
The remarks drew attention online. On February 15, 2026, Obama posted a clarification on Instagram stating the statistical likelihood of life elsewhere but low chance of visits, and reiterating he saw no evidence of contact during his presidency.
Where They Are Now
As of October 2026 Barack Obama continues to reside in the United States and engages in public speaking, writing, and philanthropic activities through the Obama Foundation.
He maintains an active media presence with occasional podcast and interview appearances but has issued no further statements on UAP or extraterrestrial matters since the February 2026 clarification.
